It’s hot in here..

And I still have to take it some more. Last week I tested out the a/c unit for the first real time and the central air didn’t really work its magic.. esp when compared to running the central heat once.

I woke up one morning early May forgetting all the windows were open, it must have been about 40ish, in thirty minutes it was nice and comfortable.

The truth can’t be said about taking heat out of a place mind you, but this unit is struggling it would seem. I got a knock on my door on Tuesday from a nice neighbor who’s name escapes me even though I introduced myself. Granted, its 7pm, I’ve now settled into my ‘done for the day’ (at least in going out) clothes, which consisted of a large man answering said door (me) in gym shorts. I think I scared him at first cause he was hesitant to ask the question.

He explained that our shared wall, a length because of the shape of this apartment that is no more than 10 feet, 5 of which is outside on the balcony.. was ‘shaking and vibrating’ as he put it.

It took me a second to figure out, what could cause that; that I’d be responsible for.

The A/C unit.

I turned it off, he went back over to his place, checked on the questionable wall and came back. That was it. I said briefly to him that it wasn’t being to ‘efficient’ for a high efficiency unit.

Needless to say, maintenance took a look at it the next day, they’ve always been on the ball dealing with stuff in a day or so. The Freon was low, so they refilled it, tested it and left. I was told later that its outputting at 54 degrees Fahrenheit. I guess the normal range is 53-56F.

It rained all last week though, so not really a chance to test it.. til yesterday afternoon when it was 85F.. needless to say, yeah the compressor isn’t running double time and struggling to do anything.. but I’ve hardly seen a difference in performance.

Its supposed to get up to 93F today with high humidity, running all night its bearable in here but hot. I’m probably gonna call the office in a bit as the neighbors next door have a big place that is cooler than mine, and did so in a reasonable amount of time.
